Saxony, SV get high seeds in Holiday Classic

Two local girls basketball teams will compete this week in the First State Community Bank Holiday Classic, Saxony Lutheran earned the three seed, while St. Vincent is the fourth seed in the 12-team tournament.
The games will be played at Saxony Lutheran and the Show Me Center in Cape Girardeau.
The Indians and Crusaders played on Dec. 4 with Saxony winning in triple overtime to be seeded ahead of St. Vincent.
The top four seeds received a bye in the first round and Saxony will play the winner of Woodland/Meadow Heights at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 17 at Saxony Lutheran. St. Vincent will play the winner of Kelly and Cairo, Ill.
The top seed is Delta, with Jackson as the two seed. Other teams in the tournament are (5) Kelly, (6) Woodland, (7) Scott City, (8) Cape Central, (9) Oak Ridge, (10) Scott County Central, (11) Meadow Heights, (12) Cairo.
