Perryville boy, girls take third at SV meet

The Perryville cross country teams put in a good showing.
The boys and girls team each took third at the St. Vincent Invitational Aug. 31.
The Perryville girls were once again led by Tegan Bishop who took first place with a time of 20 minutes, 20.40 seconds.
Bishop's time was nearly one minute ahead of the next closest runner and set a course record in the process.
Bishop was joined by Alexa Hagan, who finished 23rd overall with a time of 27:23.50 and Gwynivere Newbrough who finished 26th with a time of 27:32.60.
Makayla Iffert finished 30th with a time of 28:12.80.
The St. Vincent girls finished seventh with Abby Kirn leading the way with a time of 25:48.80,, which was good for 15th overall.
Gabrielle Gremaud finished closely behind with a time of 27:28.40, which was good for 25th overall.
Kennedy Sutterer finished 39th overall with a time of 30.09.50 and Jocelyn Weibrecht was 42nd with a time of 32:05.80.

For Saxony Lutheran Myra Roth was the top finisher placing 10th overall with a time of 24:34.30 and Addelyn Thomason finished 27th overall with a time of 27:49.60.
On the boys side, Perryville was led by a pair of top 10 finishers.
Porter Hoeckele finished with the top time for the Pirates of 18:48.90, which was good for seventh place overall. Bair Hopkins finished 10th with a time of 19.00.70.
Preston Hoeckele finished just outside the top 10 with a time of 19:02.80 to place 11th overall.
Other times for the Pirates were Micah Brown's 19:34.40, which was good enough for 20th overall.
Clayton Bauwens finished 31st with a time of 20.28.10 and Mason Zoellner was 34th with a time of 20:47.10.
For St. Vincent, Jackson Unterreiner finished fourth overall with a time of 18:08.50 to help lead the Indians to a fifth place team finish.
Dane Kline finished with a time of 20:11.60 to finish 28th overall and Ethan Buerck finished with a time of 20.49.70 to finished 35th.
Braden Pech finished 46th overall with a time of 21.44.70.
Jesse Schupp was the top time for Saxony Lutheran at 20.00.80, which was good for 24th overall. Seth Mueller finished 26th overall with a time of 20.05.60.
