New Madrid spoils Perryville senior day

New Madrid tacked on three scores in the fourth quarter as Williamson scored five total touchdowns (three receiving, one rush, one INT), while Minner rushed for two scores and Jones caught two.
The Pirates honored its large 20-member senior class before the game with a ceremony. Roth said this year’s class will be missed because of the foundation it laid when it came to work ethic.
“These guys mean everything.” Roth said. “Most of them are starters on both sides of the ball and they set the bar in terms of work ethic in the off-season. A majority of these guys were in the weight room every day this summer. But we aren’t done because we have homecoming and are still fighting for a good district seed.”
Perryville face Herculaneum Saturday for its annual homecoming game at 1 p.m.
You want kids to be a part of that experience,” Roth said. “But on the other hand remind them that the reason there is a homecoming is because there is a football and that is the main event.”
