Meyer leads SV at JCAA meet

HILLSBORO — St. Vincent junior Reagan Meyer recorded two first-place finishes in the 2025 JCAA Conference girls varsity meet in Hillsboro on April 30-May 1, claiming the top spot in the 800 with a time of 2 minutes, 21.4 seconds, and the 1,600 with a time of 5:15.57, finishing ahead of teammate Abigail Kirn, who was seventh at 6:23.2.

Fellow JCAA member Perryville was led by senior Ellie Gerler, who was second in the discus at 37.6 meters and third in the shot put at 11.12.

On the boys' side, Perryville’s Dezmen Hampson, a sophomore, was first in the high jump, clearing 1.82 meters, while teammate Ben Huber was first in the discus at 47.88 meters, ahead of teammate Destyn Morgan, who was fifth at 43.43.

The St. Vincent’s boys’ team was led by the 800 meter relay, which was third in 1:33.9, and the 1,600 meter relay, which was third in 3:35.7.

In other events, St. Vincent’s Sophia Taylor was second in the triple jump, clearing 10.09 meters, and ninth in the long jump at 4.54; Abigail Kirn was fifth in the 3,200 in 14:08.9; Reese Zoellner was seventh in the pole vault, clearing 2.29 meters and eighth in the javelin at 27.77; and the 1,600 and 3,200 relays were fourth, finishing in 4:25.3 and 10:52.3, respectively.

For Perryville’s girls, Eloise Bollinger was 10th in the 400, finishing in 1:25.9.

For the Pirates, freshman Xzyavier Wilson was third in the long jump at 6.25 meters; Clayton Gremaud was fourth in the 400 (52.48 seconds), ahead of James Unterreiner, who was sixth (56.34); Kale Meyer was fourth in the 200 (23.77) and Jackson Seabaugh was sixth (24.68); Carter Hennemann was fourth in the 800 at 2:03.0 and fifth in the 1,600 in 4:37.3; Clayton Bauwens was sixth in the 3,200 (10:36.5); Jackson Seabaugh was sixth in the 100 (11.95) and Kale Meyer was seventh (12.04); Caydon Skidmore was eighth in the javelin at 40.42 meters; and Ben Huber was ninth in the shot put at 13.04.
