MDC invites hunters to learn deer hunting regulations at virtual event

COLUMBIA — The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) is inviting hunters and outdoor enthusiasts to learn more about deer hunting regulations during a free virtual program on Jan. 1.

The online event will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and will explore the history of conservation in the Show-Me State, why hunting regulations exist, and where to find current rules. The program will also include a question- and-answer session with MDC educators.

“Missourians have a strong history of deer hunting,” said Conservation Educator Ashley Edwards. “A key part of this pastime is understanding the regulations surrounding that hobby. This program is a great starting point.”

The event is open to all ages, and registration is required. Participants who register will receive an email with a link to join the online class on the morning of Jan. 1. Registrants are encouraged to check spam or junk email folders if the message does not appear in their inbox.

Questions about the program may be directed to Edwards.

Additional information about hunting opportunities and regulations is available through MDC resources online.
