Local schools send runners to state meet

The Perryville St. Vincent and Saxony Lutheran will send at least one runner onto their respective meets.
The top 30 runners and the top four individual teams qualified for state and while none of the local schools qualified as a team, they will send runners to the top meet of the year.

SV sends two
St. Vincent will send a pair of boys to the state meet as junior Jackson Unterreiner placed fifth and sophomore Ethan Hotop finished 29th in the Class 2, District 1 meet in Arcadia Valley. Unterreiner who had one of his best times all season, finished with a time of 17:18.02 and Hotop qualified for state with a time of 18:31.57.
Abby Kirn narrowly missed qualifying after finishing 33rd overall with a time of 22:53.37 and Barden Pech finished with a time of 19:16.01 to finish 42nd overall.
Every St. Vincent runner that competed set a personal best time in the meet.

Roth qualifies for state
Saxony Lutheran sophomore Myra Roth finished seventh in the Class 2, District 1 meet in Arcadia Valley Saturday. Roth finished with a time of 21:18:43 to qualify for the state meet.
Eden Dehne was the next Saxony runner to finish the race, however, she did not qualify for state with a time of 24:25.12, which was good for 47th overall.
Seth Mueller was the top male runner for Saxony with a time of 19:48.02, which was good for 59th place.

Bishop finishes in top 10
Perryville senior Tegan Bishop continued her successful season with a seventh place finish at the Class 4, District 1 meet at Fox High School. Bishop finished with a time of 19:43.90 to return to state for the third time.
Bair Hopkins was the top male runner for the Pirates at the met as he finished 41st overall with a time of 17:54.20.
