Lady Indians finish 3rd at Chaffee

CHAFFEE — The St. Vincent Lady Indians track team finished third at the Chaffee Red Devils Invitational on April 24, finishing with 80 points. Kennett’s girls’ squad won the event with 109, followed by host Chaffee in second with 109.5.

On the boys’ side, the Indians finished in fourth place 81.5 points, trailing Woodland with 98. Kelly and Scott City tied for second with 83.75 each.

The Lady Indians’ top finishers were Reagan Meyer, who finished first in the 800 meters with a time of 2 minutes, 22 seconds; Anna Welker, who won the 3,200 in 13:34; and the 3,200 relay, made up of Abigail Kirn, Welker, Audrey Amschler and Meyer, which finished first in 10:53.

Kirn finished second in the 3,200 with a time of 14:31; Brigid Sauer was second in the 100 hurdles in 18.84 seconds; and the 1,600 relay, made up of Paige Leible, Brynn Renner, Jenna Unterreiner, and Meyer, was second with a time of 4:25.7.

The 800-meter relay of Leible, Payton Unterreiner, Jenna Unterreiner and Renner, finished third in 1:57.1; the 400 relay of Renner, Elle Christisen, Leible, and Jenna Unterreiner, was fourth in 1:57.1; Kirn was fourth in the 1,600 in 57.54; Sophia Taylor was fourth in the triple jump at 9.76 meters; and Audrey Amschler was sixth in the 800 with a time of 2:52.0.

Jenna Unterreiner was seventh in the javelin with a throw of 23.67 meters, and Taylor finished 10th in the long jump at 3.76.

On the boys’ side, the Indians were led by Carter Hennemann, who finished first in the 800 (2:07) and the 1,600 (4:46.0), and Clayton Gremaud, who was first in the 400 with a time of 52.44.

The 1,600 relay, made up of James Unterreiner, Hennemann, Kale Meyer, and Gremaud, also turned in a first-place finish in 3:34.4.

Ethan Hotop was second in the 3,200 with a time of 11:27.0; and the 800 relay, made up of Unterreiner, Jackson Seabaugh, Gremaud, and Meyer, was second in 1:34.5.

Luke Ryan was third in the 3,200 in 11:42; the 3,200 relay of Jace Hennemann, Luke Ryan, Carter Herman, and Ethan Hotop, was fourth in 9:50; Kale Meyer was fourth in the 100 in 11.94 seconds, and Jackson Seabaugh was fifth in 12.04.

In the 200, Jackson Seabaugh was sixth in 24.34 and James Unterreiner was eighth in 24.84; Kellan Pitts was seventh in the high jump at 1.55 meters and ninth in the long jump at 4.84; and Ryan finished eighth in the 1,600 at 5:25.0.
