John K. Geringer, 72, of Perryville passed away Sunday, September 10, 2023 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born November 6, 1950 in Cape Girardeau, to Wilbert Leonard and Julia Marie (Schrenk) Geringer.
He was a 1969 graduate of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic High School.
John served in the United States Army from 1970-1972 achieving the rank of E-5 SPEC.5. He was honorably discharged January 14, 1972. His awards included the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, M-14 Expert Rifleman and M-16 Expert Rifleman.
He was the owner of John K.Geringer Construction Co for 42 years. John raised livestock and was a row crop farmer.
John was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Sereno, Amvets Post 94, VFW Post 4282, Riverhills Eagles Lodge 4034, Charter Member of Elks Lodge 2701. He was the current president of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery Board of which he was a member of for 35 years. He was a former member of Our Lady of Victory Holy Name Society and Knights of Columbus Council 1263.
Survivors include: the love of his life & mother of his children, Deborah (Neels) Geringer; one daughter, Sarah Geringer; two sons, Lucas (Ashley) Geringer, Gabriel (Sarah) Geringer all of Perryville; two brothers, Gary Geringer of Dublin, GA, Aaron (Cheri) Geringer, of Perryville; sister, Aleshia (Ronnie) Bruckerhoff, of Perryville; three grandchildren, Mylee Geringer, Hailey Geringer, Henry Geringer; nieces and nephews, Nick (Nicole) Geringer, Tyler (Noelle) Geringer, Jennifer (Tracey) Geringer, Brandon Geringer, Angie (Dan) Hodges, Heather (Dusty) Hauke; great nieces and nephews, Kailynn, Ashlynn, Paxton, Barrett, Richard, Joshua, Charleigh, Paula, Hannah, and Wyatt.

He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Herb Neels; brother Randolph “Rudy” Geringer.
Visitation will be from 4-8 pm on Friday, September 15, 2023 and continue from 8-10:50 a.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2023.at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville. The Rosary will be recited Saturday at 9 am. There will be an Elks Wake Service Saturday at 10:15 am.
Committal Service will be at 11:30 am Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery in Belgique with Rev. Rickey Valleroy officiating.
Burial will be at Nativity Of The Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery in Belgique Cemetery with military honors provided by the VFW Post 4282 and Delta Team.
