Indians sweep top I-55 Conference honors

St. Vincent football cleaned up the all-conference honors.
A total of 14 players earned I-55 Conference honors, including 11 first-team awards when the awards were announced.
Not only did the Indians earn many awards, they claimed the top individual honors. Senior Christian Schaaf was named the conference’s Offensive MVP, while senior linebacker Drake Robinson earned the conference’s defensive MVP. Coach Tim Schumer was named the I-55 Conference Coach of the Year after leading his team to a perfect 5-0 mark.
Schaaf threw for 2,374 yards on a 67 percent completion rate with 21 touchdowns. He also used his feet quite frequently rushing for a team-high 719 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Robinson led the team and all of the Southeast Missouri area with 173 total tackles this season to earn the top defensive honor. Robinson also added 23 tackles for loss, three sacks, two forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, and one defensive touchdown. Robinson was also named a second team offensive guard.
Boston Tarrillion earned first team honors on both the offensive and defensive lines. Tarillion doesn’t have too many individual stats, he was an anchor at right tackle for a young offensive line and a team that rushed for 1,900-plus yards, threw for more than 2,300 yards and broke the school record for points in a season (434). On defense, Tarrillion had 57 total tackles with 14 tackles for loss with three sacks, and two forced fumbles.
Logan Hayden was also named first team center for his efforts as well.
Simon Barber earned first team wide receiver honors for this past season. The senior had 46 receptions for 657 yards and four touchdowns, both second on the team.
John Schwartz earned first team honors after compiling 47 total tackles, with one forced fumble, five pass breakups, a team leading seven interceptions and one defensive touchdown. Schwartz was only targeted 31 times and allowed just nine receptions all season.
He was also named honorable mention wide receiver with 542 yards and five touchdowns. Senior running back Cruz Reitzel earned first team honors after rushing for 653 yards and 19 touchdowns, while also having 128 yards recieiving and another two scores.

James Unterreiner was named first team defensive end after compiling 43 total tackles, with five tackles for loss and one fumble recovery.
Wyatt Winkler was named first team outside liinebacker and first team kicker. On defense, Winkler had 96 total tackles with 16 tackles for loss, with three sacks and one interception and a defensive touchdown. As a kicker, Winkler was 53/55 on extra points and 1/3 field goals with 30 touchbacks.
Jacob Schremp was named second team tight end as he led St. Vincent with both 661 yards and seven touchdowns.
Clayton Gremaud was named second team wide receiver and second team defensive back for the Indians this past season. Gremaud had 76 tackles on defense to go with two fumble recoveries, two pass breakups and one interception. On offense, Gremaud had 395 yards with four touchdowns. He also added 153 yards rushing and two touchdowns.
Carson House was named a second team linebacker with 106 total tackles, with 11 tackles for loss two sacks and one forced fumble, despite missing much of the season with injury.
Max Wheeler was named a second team defensive back with 46 tackles three forced fumbles, and two interceptions.
Eli Abernathy was named honorable mention linebacker with 63 tackles, eight tackles for loss, and one sack.
