DE SOTO — The St. Vincent boys track team finished sixth and the girls finished eighth at the De Soto High School Invitational on April 11 at J.C. Culwell Stadium.
On the boys’ side, St. Vincent had 65 points, ahead of Perryville, which finished eighth with 43. The Lady Indians collected 46 points in the meet, just ahead of ninth-place Perryville, who had 37. North County won the boys’ title with 136.5 points and Union claimed the girls title with 110.
For the St. Vincent boys, Clayton Gremaud was first in the 400 with a time of 52.63 seconds and third in the 200 at 23.77; James Unterreiner was second in the 400 at 54.78; Carter Hennemann was second in the 1,600 at 4:37.09 and third in the 800 at 2:04.06.
Kale Meyer was fifth in the 200 at 23.86 and sixth in the 100 at 11.93; Kellan Pitts was fourth in the high jump at 1.63 meters; Ethan Hotop was seventh in the 3,200 at 11:18.07; Jackson Seabaugh was ninth in the 100 at 12.07; and Mason Naeger was 10th in the triple jump at 10.23.
The Indians’ 800 relay was third in 1:35.36, the 1,600 relay was third in 3:41.17, and the 3,200 relay was eighth in 10:01.73.
For Perryville, Ben Huber was first in the discus at 44.35 meters, ahead of teammate Destyn Morgan, who was third at 41.33; Dezmen Hampson was third in the high jump at 1.73 and seventh in the 200 at 24.87; Kayd Luckey was fifth in the 800 in 2:07.64, Xzyavier Wilson was fifth in the long jump at 5.88 and sixth in the high jump at 1.58; Cabren Kirn was fifth in the shot put at 13.32 meters, ahead of Morgan, who was eighth at 11.74; Jacob Goehman was ninth in the triple jump at 10.66; and Preston Cooper was 10th in the 400 at 59.75.
Perryville’s boys’ 400 relay was seventh (47.93), the 800 relay was eighth (1:45.44), and the 1,600 relay was ninth (4:06.34).
Individually for the St. Vincent girls, Reagan Meyer finished first in the 800 at 2 minutes, 25.01 seconds and first in the 1,600 at 5:27.58; Anna Welker finished third in the 3,200 at 13:56.82 and fourth in the 1,600 at 6:20.30; Brigid Sauer was third in the triple jump at 9.45 meters and ninth in the high jump at 1.27; Sophia Taylor was fourth in the triple jump at 9.33; Audrey Amschler was eighth in the 3,200 in 15:46.88; and Jenna Unterreiner was 10th in the javelin at 23.21.
St. Vincent’s girls 1,600 relay was seventh (4:33.85), the 800 relay was eighth (2:01.56) and the 400 relay was 10th in 57.93.
For the Lady Pirates, Ellie Gerler was first in the discus at 31.69 and first in the shot put at 11.26; Lucy Blythe was fourth in the 3,200 at 13:59.61; Sophia Coppaway was fifth in the 200 (28.96) and sixth in the 100 (13.77); Annabelle Del Rosario was fifth in the pole vault, clearing 2.13 meters; and Janie Porter was eighth in the high jump at 1.27 meters. The Lady Pirates’ 3,200 relay was ninth in 12:42.76.
