During its July 15 board meeting, Mercy Perry Hospital Administrator Chris Wibbenmeyer recognized Kali and Kayda Ernst for their generous service and contributions to the hospital.
The sisters raise funds to donate toys to children in area hospitals, including Mercy Hospital Perry, where they've contributed solely over the past two years. The girls have raised more than $2,300 in 2023 and 2024 through various means, such as bake sales, selling Easter eggs or pooling their Christmas and birthday money.
The Ernst girls have been collecting toys for six years, having started after Kali, the oldest sister, underwent surgery and needed cheering up. They are the daughters of Adam and Alissa Ernst.
