FESTUS — The host Festus Tigers swept the boys and girls divisions at the 2025 Jefferson County Athletic Association XC Championships at Festus High School on Saturday.
On the boys’ side, Festus claimed four of the top 10 spots — led by Carson Driemeier, who claimed the individual title with a time of 16:02.67 — and won the team title with 29 points. DeSoto was second with 47, Herculaneum was third at 75, and Jefferson was fourth with 101.
Perryville finished in fifth place with 143 points, and St. Vincent was sixth with 145.
In individual competition for the boys, St. Vincent junior Carter Hennemann turned in a top-10 finish, coming seventh with a time of 17:34.92, 90 seconds off the top finisher and 20 behind Herculaneum’s Noah Fitzgerald, who was sixth in 17:10.66. First and 10th place were separated by just 110 seconds.
Rounding out the list of finishers for St. Vincent were Collin Tilley, who was 32nd in 20:49.43, and Jackson Strattman, who was 33rd in 20:50.88, just ahead of Caden Hadler, who was 34th in 20:57.71. Luke Ryan was 39th in 21:55.13, and Noah Winschel was 45th in 23:59.79.
Perryville was led by Clayton Bauwens, who was 14th in 18:00.97, followed by Micah Brown, who was 26th in 19:41.55, Easton Blechle, who was 31st in 20:02.71, Rodney Rauh, who was 35th in 21:06.77, and Brandon Roth, who was 37th in 21:26.51. Cale Austin was 40th in 22:01.40, and Jonathon Randolph was 43rd in 22:46.67.
On the girls’ side, Festus claimed the top seven spots, led by Lucy Boyer, who finished first with a time of 20 minutes, 15.32 seconds, and totaled 15 points to claim the team title. Herculaneum, led by Amaya Ferguson’s eighth-place finish in 21:37.53, claimed the remainder of the top 10 spots and finished second in the team standings with 53 points.
St. Vincent finished fifth with 126 points, while Perryville only fielded four runners and did not place.
St. Vincent was led by Reagan Meyer, who finished just out of the top 10 in 11th at 22:19.26, Anna Welker, who was 13th in 22:31.34, Audrey Amschler, who was 31st in 26:35.14, Adeline Carlton, who was 35th in 28:16.27, and Jocelyn Weibrecht, who was 36th in 28:21.96. Sybina Nations was 37th in 30:45.87, and Sybella Nations was 38th in 31:20.14.
For Perryville, Lucy Blythe was 34th in 26:23.22, Anna Rehagen was 39th in 27:27.98, Katie Baggett was 41st in 28:06.46, and Eloise Bollinger was 45th in 30:58.35.
