Colvis named April Teacher of the Month

Karson Colvis was voted the Perry County Republic-Monitor Teacher of the Month for April after a round of voting by readers.

According to her nomination letter, "Karson is an incredible teacher who truly makes a difference every single day. She creates a classroom where students feel safe, valued, and excited to learn. Her patience, creativity, and ability to connect with each child set her apart.

"Karson goes above and beyond to meet her students’ needs, always finding new ways to support and encourage them. She builds strong relationships not only with her students, but also with their families, making everyone feel heard and cared for. Her passion for teaching shines through in everything she does, and her impact on her students will last far beyond the classroom."

Colvis, a first-grade teacher at the Perryville Primary Center received a gift certificate from Villainous Grounds and another from Domino's to host a pizza party for her class.
