Bishop takes first at JCAA meet for second straight year

Perryville senior has accomplished a lot in her cross-country career. She can add one more accomplishment to her resume.
Tegan Bishop took first place at the Jefferson County Athletic Association cross country meet on Saturday. Bishop finished with a time of 19 minutes, 53. 36 seconds for her second conference championship. She won the conference race as a junior in 2021, but her time this season was one minute faster than one year ago.
Bishop finished nearly 20 seconds faster than Windsor’s Emerson Selsor, who finished second.
Alexa Hagan finished 39th overall with a time of 25:14.90, while Gwynivere Newbrough finished 44th overall at 27:01.75.
Eloise Bollinger finished 48th at 30:28.44 and Katie Baggett finished 53rd with a time of 32:49.82.

For St. Vincent, Abby Kirn finished in the top spot for the Indians, as she earned 34th overall with a time of 24:33.31.
The Indians had six of its seven runners finish inside the top 50 as Gabrielle Gremaud finished 43rd with a time of 26:49.60. Kennedy Sutterer finished 45th (27:51.71) , Sybella Nations 47th (29:35.33), Reese Zoellner 49th (30:36.06) and Jocelyn Weibrecht 50th (30.55.94)
On the boys side, Perryville had four runners finished inside the top 30, as Bair Hopkins led the way with a time of 17:57.04, good for 20th. Porter Hoeckele finished 25th with a time of 18:29.56, and Preston Hoeckele finished 27th with a time of 18:33.88.
Clayton Bauwens finished 28th with a time of 18:37.31 and Micah Brown was 36th with a time of 19:24.13.
Jackson Unterreiner finished first for the Indians squad, earned 18th overall with a time of 17:45.42, while Ethan Hotp was 41st with a time of 19:57.55.
Braden Pech was 43rd overall with a time of 20:15.51 and Ethan Buerck finished 47th with a time of 20:34.42.
