Annual Mayor’s Cup showcase set for Jan. 27

The Perryville Pirates and St. Vincent Indians will come together on Saturday, Jan. 27 for the Mayor’s Cup Tournament, the annual showcase of hometown basketball talent. The event begins at noon at Perry Park Center with the junior varsity girls’ game and culminates with the varsity boys’ game. This event is open to the public. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students.
The schedule is as follows:
Noon JV Girls
1:30pm JV Boys
3:00pm Varsity Girls

4:30pm Varsity Boys
The PHS Choir will sing the National Anthem before the Varsity Girls game, and the SVHS Choir will perform the National Anthem prior to the Varsity Boys game.
The PHS Cheerleaders will perform during halftime of the Varsity Girls game, and the SVHS Cheerleaders will perform during halftime of the Varsity Boys game.
The PHS Student Section will be in the bleachers directly across from their bench, near the garage door. The SVHS Student Section will be in the bleacher directly behind their bench, to the left of the scorer’s table.
St. Vincent varsity girls won last year’s meeting 58-26, but Perryville won the previous four matchups. The St.Vincent varsity boys won last year 57-34 and have won the previous four meetings between the two teams. Perryville boys last won in 2019 (66-56)
