The District 32 Board of Education has announced Lacey Amschler as the next Principal of the Perryville Primary Center and Michael-Ann Kellerman as the next Assistant Principal at Perry County Middle School.
Both appointments were approved during a special meeting on Monday, Feb. 23. Amschler and Kellerman will assume their new roles to begin the 2026-27 school year.
“We are proud to welcome two outstanding educators into new leadership roles,” said District 32 Superintendent Dr. Fara Jones. “Having served District 32 students for many years as teachers, they bring a deep understanding of our schools, our values, and the needs of our students. Their leadership will help us continue building strong learning environments where every student can succeed.”
A former assistant principal at PPC, Amschler returns to the administrative ranks after spending the last two years in the classroom. Amschler has a combined eight years of experience as a fourth-grade teacher at Perryville Elementary School in addition to serving five years as the PPC Assistant Principal from 2019 to 2024.
Amschler holds a bachelor’s degree in education from Southeast Missouri State University (2011) and a master’s degree in administration from William Woods University (2017). She replaces Emily Koenig, who will depart District 32 after 25 years as a teacher and Principal to become the Superintendent for the Chaffee R-II School District, to begin the 2026-27 school year. Amschler will serve alongside PPC Assistant Principal Abigale Harris.
“I’m excited to step into leadership again with a stronger sense of perspective,” Amschler said. “I feel ready to lead in a way that is intentional, sustainable, and centered on what truly matters — students, teachers, and community.”
Kellerman will begin her first role in administration after spending 20 years as a teacher and counselor. She has been the PCMS counselor since 2020, after serving 13 years as a fifth-grade teacher in District 32 from 2007 to 2020. Prior to District 32, she served for 2 years as a kindergarten teacher at Immanuel Lutheran School in Perryville.
Kellerman holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from SEMO (2004), a master’s degree in administration from William Woods University (2009), and a master’s degree in school counseling from the University of Central Arkansas (2019). She replaces Stacey Versemann, who has been appointed District 32’s next Chief Academic Officer. Kellerman will serve alongside PCMS Principal Nick Cowell.
“It is an honor to serve Perry County Middle School in this new role as Assistant Principal,” Kellerman said. “I look forward to working alongside Mr. Cowell and our dedicated teachers to support a strong, caring academic environment where all students can continue to learn and grow.”
D32 CENTRAL OFFICE RETURNING TO CAMPUS
The Perry County District 32 Central Administrative Office has announced it is moving back to campus nearly a year after being displaced during the March 2025 tornado.
Central Office is transitioning into the lower level of the Perryville Primary Center with public access at the rear of the building between the playgrounds. The office will resume normal hours in its new location effective Monday, March 9. Central Office is open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Central Office houses administrative offices for the superintendent, assistant superintendent, chief academic officer, special services director, safety director, and communications director as well as the board of education, registrar, and administrative staff.
Central Office moved off campus to a rented space last spring so Perryville High School could use Old Senior High after the PHS building was devastated by the tornado. The District 32 Board decided to invest in outfitting the previously unfinished space at PPC to house Central Office rather than continuing to pay rent off campus. The space will eventually be converted to classrooms for the Primary Center once a recovery project is completed for PHS and Central Office can move back to Old Senior High.
