Willard E. Vernon, 81, of Perryville, passed away Monday, Oct. 14, 2024, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 29, 1943, in Menfro to Elmer Jefferson and Lela Barbara (Boxdorfer) Vernon.
Willard worked for the City of Perryville in the Public Works Department. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville. Willard was an avid deer hunter. He enjoyed fishing, camping and collecting arrowheads, marbles and pocketknives. Willard loved spending time with family, especially the little ones.
Survivors include three brothers, Ray (Donna) Vernon, Larry Vernon, Gary (Shirley) Vernon; two sisters, Sharon Baudendistel and Connie Kempfer; sister-in-law, Glenda Vernon; brother-in-law, Darrell Neuling; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; all of Perryville. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Harold Vernon, Earl (Gladys) Vernon, Linus Vernon, Elvis (Norma) Vernon, Leroy Vernon; two sisters, Evelyn (Bill) Cottner, Dolores Neuling.
Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 17, 2024, at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville and continued from 9. to 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct 18, 2024, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville. Funeral Service was held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, 2024, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville, with Rev. Joseph Schlie officiating. Burial was at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Perryville. Memorial contributions may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Immanuel Lutheran Broadcast Fund.
