The Perry County Military History Museum is inviting area veterans and their guests to enjoy a free picnic lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. this Saturday, Sept. 27, at the pavilion near the Wall of Honor and the Perry County Museum.
Lunch will include hamburgers, hot dogs, beans, s’mores and soft drinks.
The picnic is being offered as a gesture of appreciation for local veterans and their families. Organizers say it is also an opportunity to bring the community together in the shadow of the Wall of Honor, which recognizes those who have served.
The Perry County Military History Museum, located in Perryville, preserves and shares the stories of local men and women who served in America’s armed forces. The museum houses uniforms, photographs, artifacts and exhibits from conflicts ranging from the Civil War through more recent deployments, keeping alive the county’s proud military heritage.
This year’s picnic is supported by the Republic- Monitor, Thrivent Financial, and the City of Perryville, which is providing the pavilion and tables for the event.
