Vera Martha Sandler, 98, of Perryville, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2025, at Holiday Residential Care in Perryville.
She was born Nov. 1, 1927, in Altenburg to George and Natalie (Fiehler) Hoehne.
Vera and Robert Sandler were married Nov. 18, 1950, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg. He preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker and a longtime member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church choir. Vera enjoyed going on walks, fishing and quilting. She also collected dolls over the years and was especially fond of her dogs and cats. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville.
Survivors include her sister, Gloria Brothers; brother, Ralph (Jill) Hoehne; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Sandler; her son, Michael Sandler; her sisters, Lillian Kasten and Ruth Frye; and her brothers, Charles, Ernst, George Jr., and Richard Hoehne.
Visitation was held from 8 to 9:50 a.m. Monday, Nov. 10, 2025, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville.
The funeral service took place at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 10, 2025, at the church, with Rev. Matthew Marks officiating.
Burial was in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Perryville. Memorial contributions may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
