Water Tower No. 2, located just east of Mount Hope Cemetery in Perryville, was completed in January 1926. Over the years, repairs and additional excavation deepened its spring-fed well, which was considered one of the deepest — and by some accounts the deepest — in Missouri. After about 100 years of service, the structure was recently demolished.
