Thomas Russell Elder, 76, of Perryville, passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at his residence.
He was born August 8, 1949, in St. Louis, to Russell and Gladys (Bass) Elder.
Tom and Juanita Cissell were married on September 7, 1968, in Perryville. She survives him in Perryville.
He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, the Perry County Sportsman’s Club, Knights of Columbus Council #1263, and the Perryville Bass Casters. He retired as a quality control manager from General Motors after 31 years of service. Tom enjoyed puzzles, watching the St. Louis Cardinals and the Kansas City Chiefs.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Mark (Tori) Elder, Danny (Laura) Elder; two daughters, Kim (Roy) Richardet, Jennifer (Shane Wilson) Elder; twelve grandchildren, Hunter Elder, Hayden Elder, Zachary (Holly) Elder, Hannah Elder, Tiffany (Joe) Schwent, Hailey (Joey) Bauwens, Trent (Morgan) Richardet, Garrett (Amber Elder) Richardet, Chase Richardet, Shelby (Brayden) Cox, Lane Wilson, SJ Wilson; and twelve great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Scott Elder; three sisters, Cynthia Wilson, Virginia Meister and JoAnn Moore.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9:30 a.m. on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville.
The funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday, September 12, 2025, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville, with Rev. Joe Geders C.M. officiating.
Memorial contributions may be given to Perry County Sportsman Club Special Projects.
