Thomas Joseph Lappe, 84, of Perryville, died Sunday, March 8, 2026, at his residence.
He was born February 20, 1942, in Cape Girardeau, to Sylvester and Irma (Seyer) Lappe.
Tom and Sharon Welter were married May 4, 1963, in Kelso. She survives him in Perryville.
He was a truck driver and a member of St. Maurus Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus #12934. Tom enjoyed raising cattle, hunting and fishing.
Survivors include two sons, Tom (Pam) Lappe and Tim (Michelle) Lappe; two daughters, Tammy (Rick) Ostendorf and Tina (Mike) Schaefer; two sisters, Mary Emmenderfer and Judy (Mike) Burger; ten grandchildren, Whitney (Trey) Simmons, Lindsey (Tyler) Clubb, Cortney (Jason) Mercer, Tyler Lappe, Kodi (Lauren) Lappe, Amanda (Brett) Thomas, Kolton Schaefer, Kyle (Jewlia) Lappe, Kameron (Marisa) Schaefer and Kayli Lappe; thirteen great-grandchildren, Payton, Rylan, Greyson, Larsyn, Brekyn, Lizah, Noah, Kembree, Koburn, Emberlynn, Colt and Piper; and one great-grandchild on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Gary Emmenderfer.
Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2026, at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville and continued from 8 to 9:15 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the funeral home.
The funeral Mass was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2026, at St. Maurus Catholic Church in Biehle, with Rev. Michael Benz and Deacon Bryan Burger (nephew) officiating.
Burial was at St. Maurus Catholic Cemetery in Biehle.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, St. Augustine Catholic School in Kelso or St. Paul Lutheran School in Jackson.
