Firefighters with the Perry County Rural Fire Department responded to a call reporting a structure fire at 2025 Blue Springs Lane on Sunday.
Upon their arrival, the firefighters found a 20x20 shop fully involved.
“The fire spread to the house, which received minor damage to the exterior of the residence, melting the siding and burning the back porch area,” said Assistant Fire Chief Garrett L. Schott. The fire also spread to a tiny home located next to the shop. The tiny home received major damage. The shop and the tiny home are considered a complete loss.”
Schott also reported there were two occupants found in the tiny home and nine occupants in the main structure.
“All occupants were able to escape the fire,” he said. “There was a dog that perished in the fire. No injuries were reported.”
The Chester Fire Department was called in to assist and The American Red Cross was called to help the occupants who were displaced.
