The Perryville Fire Department responded to a 6:01 p.m. call on Wednesday June 4 of a commercial structure fire at the Perryville Stave Co., 1205 S. Kingshighway.
Upon their arrival, firefighters found an approximately 60-by-120-foot structure with heavy smoke and flames.
“Fire crews were able to quickly contain the fire to a third of the building,” said Jeremny Mantz, emergency service manager/ assistant fire chief. “The Missouri State Fire Marshal was contacted to investigate, and the fire was determined to be accidental in nature.”
The responding units returned to service at 9:35 p.m. The Chester Fire Department also responded for mutual aid.
