CAPE GIRARDEAU – Today, Saint Francis Healthcare System marks 150 years of service to Cape Girardeau and the surrounding area with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The Cape Girardeau Area Chamber of Commerce, along with the Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce, will hold a commemorative ribbon cutting at noon today, Thursday, July 31, in the Healing Garden on the Saint Francis Medical Center campus.
The ribbon cutting will take place in front of Saint Francis’ historic Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto in the Healing Garden.
Justin Davison, president and CEO of the Saint Francis Healthcare System, will offer insights on Saint Francis’ founding to the future healthcare vision of Saint Francis. According to CEO Davison, what began in a 12-room, two-story home on Themis Street in Cape Girardeau has grown into a 306-bed tertiary care hospital, with more than 400 providers serving 29 counties in the heartland of America.
