Robert V. Kluender, 79, of Perryville, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2025, at his residence.
He was born December 23, 1945, in Perryville, to Vernon “Ben” and Audell (Broecker) Kluender.
Robert and Ruby A. Brewer were married February 27, 1965, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Perryville. She preceded him in death on July 4, 2022.
Robert was a livestock farmer and retired from Chrysler after 40 years as a quality inspector. He was a devout member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. It was important to him to pray for others. He was also a member of the United Auto Workers. Robert’s priorities were his wife, family, and his farm. He enjoyed music, dancing, photography, and traveling.
Survivors include two sons, David V. Kluender of Perryville, Bobby W. Kluender of Perryville; brother, Melvin (Carol) Kluender of Perryville; sister, Sylvia Rhyne of St. Louis; grandchild, Faith (Ethan) Layton of Perryville; three great-grandchildren, Gib Layton, Henry Layton, Ruby Layton.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Visitation took place from 3 to 7 p.m. on Monday, July 14, 2025, at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville and continued from 8 to 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at the funeral home.
The rosary was recited at 8:30 a.m.
The funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville, with Deacon Direk Hunt officiating.
Burial was at Mount Hope Cemetery in Perryville.
Memorial donations may be given to St. Vincent School Systems.
