In loving memory of Ramona Eva Lankford, 98, of Perryville.
Born July 30, 1927, to Charles Grogg and Irene (Heob) Grogg, she passed away Monday, December 29, 2025.
Ramona enjoyed embroidery, crossword puzzles, and word-search games. She spent time visiting residents and loved people-watching.
Ramona attended Trinity Baptist Church and was deeply loved by all who knew her.
She is survived by a sister, Ruth Ann Wilkerson; nieces, Debbie Welker, Gayla Wilkerson, Lisa Smith, and Tina Webery; nephews, Charlie “Sonny” (Gerri) Keeble, Marlin (Karen) Wilkerson, and Tom Grogg; and a great-nephew, Dan (Kathy) Lankford.
Ramona was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vernon “Mike” D. Lankford; son, Michael A. Lankford; brother, Raymond (Charlotte) Grogg; sister, Reva (Charles) Keeble; brother-in-law, Everett Wilkerson; and longtime companion, Norval “Norbie” Lankford.
Visitation took place from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday, January 2, 2026, at Trinity Baptist Church in St. Mary.
The funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Friday, January 2, 2026, at Trinity Baptist Church.
Burial followed at Kaskaskia Cemetery in Kaskaskia, Ill.
