Reliable Community Bancshares, Inc. has announced the appointment of McLane Poteet to its Board of Directors and to the Board of Directors of The Bank of Missouri.
Poteet joins both boards following the company’s recent acquisition of M1 Bancshares, Inc., adding experience in strategic banking growth and community-focused lending to the organization’s leadership team.
“Our Board of Directors plays a critical role in guiding the long-term success of Reliable Community Bancshares and The Bank of Missouri,” said Adrian Breen, president of Reliable Community Bancshares, Inc., and chairman, president and CEO of The Bank of Missouri. “McLane's experience and perspective align perfectly with our mission to strengthen communities through responsible, relationship-focused banking.”
Poteet was a founding member and vice chairman of M1 Bank. In that role, he managed the bank’s credit function and implemented its credit philosophy and strategic model. He also served on the boards of directors for both M1 Bank and its holding company, M1 Bancshares, Inc., contributing to governance, management oversight and strategic planning.
Before joining M1 Bank, Poteet developed and implemented specialized lending platforms supporting affordable housing, renewable energy and historic tax credit markets. He played a key role in helping build a financial institution with assets exceeding $1.4 billion, establishing scalable processes and disciplined credit practices to support long-term growth.
Poteet earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Missouri with a dual emphasis in finance and banking and real estate, along with a minor in economics. He later earned his Juris Doctor from Saint Louis University School of Law in 2013.
Reliable Community Bancshares, Inc. is the parent company of The Bank of Missouri, a 135-year-old community bank serving customers with personal and business banking, digital banking tools, mortgage services, commercial lending and other financial solutions across its growing network
