Postal truck crash leaves mail soggy, driver injured

A U.S. Postal Service truck driven by a 20-year-old Sikeston man was involved in a crash at 7:10 a.m. Saturday, April 4, in Perry County, leaving some Perryville postal customers with soggy mail.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred when a northbound 2023 Isuzu NPR-HD truck traveled off the left side of the roadway, overturned and struck a cable median.

The crash caused extensive damage to the truck, water damage to some of the mail and minor injuries to the driver.

The driver, who was wearing a seat belt, was transported by Mercy Perry Ambulance to St. Francis Medical Center, where he was treated for his injuries.

The heavily damaged truck was removed from the scene by Boyd’s Towing.
