Pirates advance to title game at Woodland

The Perryville volleyball is is off to a good start this fall.
The team has rolled through its first two games in the Woodland Invitational Tournament on Monday and Tuesday and will play in the championship game on Friday.
On Monday in the tournament semifinals, the Pirates rolled past the host Woodland in three sets (25-9, 25-22, 25-18).
Some of the team leaders included Ana Moll with 12 digs, McKenna McClure 18 kills, Emma Blechle 9 kills, Elise Lauck 15 assists and three aces, and Allyson Burns with 16 assists.
“It was an all around team effort to capture the win,” Coach Liz Meyr said.
The Pirates made quick work of its first round opponent Greenville on Monday as well.
The Pirates won in three sets (25-12, 25-14, 25-8)
The Pirates will have to wait until Thursday to figure out its opponent, but in the meantime will have its home opener on Thurday against Cape Central in what has been a long week for Perryville coaches and players. .
The tournament final against whatever team Perryville plays is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Woodland High School.
