Perryville High School sophomores Lexi Schemel and Leah Bell were the winners for the third week of the Republic-Monitor Medallion Search. Although this was their first time searching for the medallion, they received a $100 check to split between them. According to the pair, they got up bright and early to buy a newspaper when they first went on sale at 5 a.m. March 20. Asked if the clues were easy, they said the one talking about “playing the cards and stuff” led them to the soccer park. And how did they find the medallion? One of them stuck their hand in a bush, pulled it out of the bag, and said, “Guys, I found it!”
