The Rotary Club of Perryville obtained matching funds from Rotary District 6060 to provide a Community Assistance Program (CAP) Grant for the historical society. In December of 2025, the grant funds provided for the purchase of 2400 acid-free archival folders for use in preserving the collection of the Last Will and Testament of Perry County citizens filed with the Perry County Probate Court from 1822 through 1971. The documents will be preserved in these folders after they are humidified and flattened by trained volunteers in the coming months. This project was accomplished through the efforts of the former historical society director, Bill Hart. Hart presented the request, ordered the materials and provided the necessary proofs of purchase to complete the grant process just before his death on Dec. 28. This was just one of the many valuable preservation projects that he initiated in his years as director.
