A Perryville man was injured in a one-vehicle motorcycle crash at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, on Route O at Shannon Lane in Perry County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred when the 38-year-old man, driving an eastbound 2004 Harley-Davidson Road King, lost control. The motorcycle traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck the ground and overturned, ejecting both the driver and his passenger.
The driver was flown by Air Evac helicopter to Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis with serious injuries. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The motorcycle sustained extensive damage.
ARRESTS
Evan R. Hayden, 18, of Perryville, was charged with driving while intoxicated at 3:54 a.m. Monday, Sept. 15, in Jefferson County. He was transported to the Festus Police Department, where he was subsequently released.
