Pegleg Players ready to ‘get away’ with comedy

The Perry County Middle School drama club, the PCMS Pegleg Players, will bring laughter, suspense, and a few surprises to the Perry Park Center stage when they present How to Get Away with a Murder Mystery, a play written by Don Zolidis.

The show will run Friday, Nov. 14 and Saturday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 16 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $5 at the door (cash only).

Directed by Robbie Riehn, the production features 18 students in grades 6–8 and offers audiences something unusual — a different ending each night.

Described as a fast-paced farce of the classic whodunit, How to Get Away with a Murder Mystery follows five color-coded guests who find themselves in a mysterious mansion, one dead body, and a narrator trying to keep the chaos in check. Riehn says the comedy is packed with witty dialogue, over-the-top detective monologues, and enough twists to keep everyone guessing until the final curtain.

“This is a fun, tongue-in-cheek mystery that both our cast and audiences will enjoy,” Riehn said. “It’s the perfect blend of humor and suspense — and no two shows will end the same way.”

Riehn, who also directed The Sound of Music for First Act Community Theater this past summer, praised his middle-school cast for their dedication and enthusiasm.
