Paul Lynn Schmidt, 58, of Perryville, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at his residence.
He was born on March 11, 1967, in Perryville to Lillian (Moonier) Schmidt.
Paul and Tammy Stoudt were married on July 1, 2006, in Perryville.
He worked as a fabricator for Gilster Mary Lee for many years. Paul had a great love for nature, especially feeding his deer and watching eagles. He enjoyed woodworking and working with his hands, loved riding his dune buggy, and spending time with friends and family. Paul would do anything for anyone.
Survivors include his wife, Tammy; a son, Paul “PJ” Schmidt Jr.; two stepsons, Andrew (Alicia) Irvin and Ryan (Liana) Stoudt; a stepdaughter, Heather Irvin; two sisters, Joyce Favier and Sharon Brown; a sister-in-law, Tina Williams; grandchildren, Joshua, Trey, and Sebastian; nephews, Rick Favier, Rocky Favier, Brad (Brenda) Holifield, Chad (Kaye) Huber, David (Ashley) Williams, Wes (Jill) Barnett, and Josh (Abigail) Stevens; nieces, Amanda Granito, Courtney (Brian), and Mikayla Williams; great-nephews, Zachary and Kaleb; great-nieces, Katie, Trinity, Aubree, Brooklynn, Atalie, and Freya; and best friends, Byron and Ray.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lillian Schmidt; a sister, Charleen Stevens; a brother, Gerald Schmidt; two brothers-in-law, Leander Doyle Brown Jr. and Timothy Williams; and his mother-in-law, Sandra Leverenz, and father-in-law, Edwin Schrank.
Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville.
