The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to three injury accidents over the past week, two of which resulted in serious injuries.
These incidents either happened in Perry County or involved Perry County residents.
The first incident involved an eastbound 2013 Harley-Davidson motorcycle that took place on Thursday, July 31, at 6:25 p.m. on Highway KK, three miles west of Highway K in Bolinger County.
According to MSHP, the crash happened when a 33-year-old Perryville man riding the motorcycle went off the left side of the road and overturned.
The rider, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the wreck, was taken by private vehicle to Mercy Hospital Perry, where he received treatment for moderate injuries.
The motorcycle was totaled and left at the scene.
The second incident was a collision of two cars that occurred at 5:45 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 1, on Route T, east of Route N in Perry County.
The MSHP reports that the crash occurred when an eastbound 2018 Hyundai Sonata, driven by a 36-year-old Perryville man, crossed the center of the road and hit the front of a westbound 2009 Pontiac G6, driven by a 26-year-old Farmington man.
The Farmington man, who was wearing a seat belt during the accident, was transported to St. Louis University Hospital by Air Evac, where he received treatment for serious injuries.
The Perryville man, who wasn’t wearing a seat belt during the accident, was airlifted to Mercy Hospital South, where he was also treated for serious injuries.
Both vehicles were totaled and taken from the scene by Perry County Towing.
The third incident involved a westbound 2011 Harley-Davidson motorcycle that occurred at 5:05 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 3, on Route T, west of Route CC in Perry County. '
'According to MSHP, the crash occurred when the motorcycle, driven by a 41-year-old man from Farmington, veered off the left side of the road, hitting a sign and a rock before overturning.
The man was transported by private vehicle to Parkland Health Center, where he received treatment for serious injuries.
It is unknown whether the rider was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The motorcycle, which was totaled, was removed from the scene by Perry County Towing.
