Mildred Mae Abernathy, 96, of Perryville, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at Independence Care Center of Perry County.
She was born May 3, 1928, in Perryville to William and Elsie (Hoffman) Clifton.
Mildred and Jess Abernathy were married September 14, 1947, at York Chapel in Longtown. He preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Methodist Church in Perryville.
Mildred loved to cook and make desserts. She enjoyed crocheting and volunteering at the hospital. She especially enjoyed visiting with her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Survivors include two daughters, Shirley (Dalton) Davis of Perryville, and Susan Moloney of Naples, Fla.; two grandchildren, Kelly (Dan) Moloney Lyons and Kevin Moloney; and great-grandchild, Cleary Lyons all of Naples, Fla.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Earl Clifton; sister, Helen Rudisaile; and son-in-law, Thomas Moloney.
Visitation was held from 9 to 10 a.m. on Monday, January 20, 2025, at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville.
The funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Monday, January 20, 2025, at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville, with Rev. Caleb officiating.
Burial was at York Chapel Cemetery in Longtown.
