Michael “PJ” Scott, 56, of Perryville, passed away Thursday, Jan. 22, 2026, at Mercy Southeast Hospital.
He was born Jan. 31, 1969, in Yazoo City to Jeanetta Whitehead.
He and Lori Scott were married Oct. 28, 1996, in Perryville.
He served in the United States Army National Guard.
He was a member of Brazeau Presbyterian Church.
Michael enjoyed BBQ, cooking, fishing, and spending time outdoors. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include three sons, Chris Miller and TJ (Crystal) Cummings; two daughters, Audrey Ortolaza and Nicki Cummings; son-inlaw, David (Michelle) Ortolaza; ten grandchildren, Kevin (Jazzy) Taylor, Charles Barbeau, Summer Dallas, Misty (Dagan) Stokely, Christian Sanchez, Nicol Sanchez, Abbie Miller, Breanna Miller, Kayleigh Cummings, and Steven Schewe; ten great-grandchildren, Everlee, Alex, Amira, Miles, Lixian, Amara, Jenni, Delilah, Hendrix, and Waylon; and two uncles, Amond and Brady Williams.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Jeanetta Whitehead; stepfather, Ocie McDonald; grandmother, Ocealee Whitehead; and uncle, Allen Whitehead.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026, at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville.
His funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026, at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville, with the Rev. Christopher Seah officiating.
Military honors will follow at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville. Memorial contributions may be given to the family for funeral expenses.
