Mercy Perry has announced the addition of a new physician and a nurse practitioner at its convenient care location in Perryville.

Dr. Victoria Damba and Ashley Riddle joined a skilled team of doctors and nurse practitioners to provide quality same-day care for patients of all ages. Patients can receive treatment for minor illnesses and injuries, including symptoms of bladder infections, cold or flu symptoms, conjunctivitis (pink eye), cough or sore throat, earaches, rashes, burns, cuts, bites, and other conditions requiring same-day care.

Dr. Victoria Damba
Victoria Damba, DO, has joined Mercy Convenient Care at 1508 Edgemont in Perryville this month. She is a family medicine-trained physician with experience in both inpatient and outpatient primary care. Prior to her career as a physician, she provided care to patients across nearly all nursing specialties.

Dr. Damba graduated from A.T. Still University – Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville. She completed her family medicine residency at Mineral Area Regional Medical Center in Farmington, where she spent nearly her entire career as a physician before transitioning to an urgent care setting.

Born in St. Louis and raised in Ste. Genevieve County, Dr. Damba is eager to meet new patients in a smaller, more rural setting.

“I have worked in health care my whole life, and I really like urgent care,” Dr. Damba said. “The idea of working in Perryville just sounded right for me. I’m excited to return to a small community where I feel like I’m part of a healthcare family.”

Dr. Damba has been married to her husband — an emergency room physician — for 31 years. Together, they have three grown children. The couple spends most of their free time visiting their children and grandchildren in Florida, Arkansas, and Buffalo, New York, where their youngest daughter is an OB/GYN resident. They also enjoy outdoor activities, whether walking, hiking, running, or their current favorite, bicycling.

Ashley Riddle
Ashley Riddle is the newest nurse practitioner at Mercy Convenient Care. She joins the team with a wealth of experience as both an emergency room nurse and a flight nurse. For the past eight years, she has provided care to patients as a nurse practitioner in the emergency room.

Riddle, a Perryville native, is a graduate of Perryville High School. She earned an associate’s degree in nursing from Three Rivers College in Poplar Bluff, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Missouri in Columbia and a Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner from Maryville University in St. Louis.

“The opportunity to come to work in my hometown and see many familiar faces is what drew me to Mercy Perry,” Riddle said. “Treating and caring for patients in my hometown is so special.”

Riddle is certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioner Certification Board as a certified emergency nurse. She’s a Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing member.

Riddle is married to Casey. She is a proud stepmom to Jase, who currently serves in the U.S. Marines, and Bo, who serves in the U.S. Navy. She has four dogs: a German shepherd named Mya and three miniature schnauzers named Boudreaux, Gwynnie, and Duncan.
