Lois Laverne Verseman, 85, of Perryville died Thursday, June 12, 2025, at St. Francis Medical Center.
She was born May 10, 1940, to Darrell and Ada (Clifton) Wharton. Lois and Arlin E. “Jim” Verseman were married October 31, 1959, in Perryville.
She enjoyed upkeeping her immaculate yard. Lois loved babies and had a big heart for her family. She made frequent trips to Wal-Mart, always getting things she needed and didn’t need. Lois never met a stranger. She worked the majority of her life at Gilster-Mary-Lee as a lab tech for the cake plant. Lois was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her son, Deron (Kristie) Verseman of Perryville; daughter-in-law, Karen M. Verseman of Perryville; two grandchildren, Ross Verseman of Perryville and Brooke Glaus of Kelso; and two sisters, Doris Welker and Sharon Hoehn.
She was preceded in death by her husband, son, Mark Verseman; her parents; and two brothers, Loren Wharton and Ted Wharton.
Visitation was held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, June 16, 2025, at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville. Visitation continued from 8:30 to 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at Zion Lutheran Church in Crosstown.
The funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at Zion Lutheran Church in Crosstown, with the Rev. John Hellwege officiating.
Burial was at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Crosstown.
