Lee A. Cornelius Perryville Lee A. Cornelius, 72, of Perryville, passed away Saturday, Nov. 29, 2025, at his residence.
He was born July 22, 1953, in Perryville to Wilfred and Marjorie (Sommer) Cornelius.
He and Janet Cato were married Nov. 4, 1978, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville. She preceded him in death on Aug. 12, 2023.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville. Lee worked as a mechanic for Carl’s Muffler and also served as a restorative technician for Saberliner. He enjoyed attending car shows with his 1967 Chevelle, as well as fishing and World War II history.
Survivors include a daughter, Emily (William) Blyzes of Perryville; a son, Matthew Cornelius of Perryville; two brothers, Glen Cornelius of Tucson, Ariz., and Dennis Cornelius of Perryville; two sisters, Linda Foote of Ste. Genevieve and Susan Worthey of Ste. Genevieve and five grandchildren, Holden, Alec, Logan, Manny and Evelyn.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, 2025, at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville and from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 5, 2025, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Rev. Joseph Schlie officiating.
Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Perryville.
Memorial contributions may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Journey Hospice.
