Larry J. Zahner Ste. Genevieve Larry Joseph Zahner, age 70, passed away on December 17, 2025, surrounded by family.
Larry was born in Perryville and spent the majority of his life in Ste. Genevieve, where he raised his children.
He retired from Chrysler, where he worked for many years as a dedicated autoworker. Though he took pride in his career, Larry was most proud of the life he built with his family. Above all else, Larry cherished his roles as a father and grandfather. His love for his children and grandchildren was steady, unconditional, and evident in everything he did. He found his greatest joy in time spent with them, whether through conversation, laughter, or simply being present.
Larry is survived by his loving children: Jennifer (Gregory) Inman, Travis (Renee) Zahner, and JoBeth (Nathan) Ellett. He was a proud grandfather to Peyton Inman, Elliot Inman, Taylor Ellett, Blake Ellett, and Chase Ellett, each of whom held a special place in his heart. He is also survived by his five sisters: Mary Kirn, Debbie (Denny) Thieret, Linda Hudson, Margie Loos, and Lawana Kirn; sisters-in-law, Pris Zahner and Margie Zahner; along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie Zahner and Lucille Miles; his stepmother, Gladys Zahner; his brothers, Ron Zahner, Dale Zahner, and David Zahner; and his brothers-in-law, Don Kirn, Cecil Hudson, Dick Loos, and Sylvester Kirn.
Larry will be remembered for his quiet strength, devotion to his family, and the love he so freely gave. His legacy lives on through his children and grandchildren, who will carry his memory with them always.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

Following the visitation, cremation will take place, with private burial at St. John’s Cemetery in Collinsville, Ill.
