Judy Faye Wilfong, 80, of Patton, passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at her home.
She was born August 6, 1945, to William George “Bill” and Mary Kathryn Starkey Ward.
Judy spent her childhood in Spring Valley. She and Gary Wilfong Sr. were united in marriage on February 16, 1963. To their union, two children were born, Jessie and Gary Jr. “Butch.”
Judy devoted her life to her family and friends. You could catch a glimpse of her sitting in her sunroom anytime you came down the lane to visit. She would greet you with a smile and offer you a cold drink from the fridge. After doing a wonderful job raising her children and experiencing the devastating loss of her daughter, Judy put her entire heart into babysitting both her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Many would say she was the “Ultimate Grandma,” as Judy was also referred to as “Grandma Judy” by so many other children.
Of her many talents—including gardening, working in her flower garden, drawing, and sewing—Judy shined the most in how she loved those around her. There wasn’t a room that she could not make cozy with her eye for design. Judy’s widely known Christmas Village was a sight to be seen during the holidays. She was an avid birdwatcher and enjoyed sitting at home with her husband, Gary, watching all the wildlife. Judy also enjoyed attending church and was a member of St. Maurus Catholic Church.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Gary Jr. “Butch” and Pam Wilfong; sister, Patty Ward; grandchildren, Chasity and Tommy Thele, Erica and Josh Mayfield, Derrick and Becca Wilfong; great-grandchildren, Kenna Thele, Jaylen Mayfield, Duel and Daus Wilfong; brothers and sisters-in-law; and nieces and nephews.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gary Wilfong Sr., daughter, Jessie Wilfong, and great-grandson, Ryder Thele.
Visitation was held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Ford and Liley Funeral Home in Patton.
The funeral service followed at 11 a.m., with Father Jim French officiating.
Burial was at Post Oak Cemetery in Patton.
