Janice N. Herron, 78, of Perryville, peacefully passed away Monday, July 21, 2025, at her residence while surrounded by her family.
She was born November 18, 1946, in St. Louis, to Harry F. and Hilda “Jo” (Hagan) Babb.
Janice and Paul L. “Pic” Herron were married on July 11, 1986. He preceded her in death on September 20, 2016.
She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville. In her younger years, Janice worked in the registrar’s office at St. Mary’s Seminary in Perryville. Later, she worked at TG Missouri for 15 years as a technician supervisor. Janice enjoyed drinking her wine, being with her family, traveling with her sister, and having drinks on her deck.
Survivors include two daughters and a son: Tony (Cheryl) Slacer, Amanda (Brian) Torres, and Nichole Mitchell, all of Perryville; sister Barbara Cecilioni and her husband Martin Marino of Ontario, Canada; brother Robert Babb of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; nine grandchildren: Gage Slacer, Nathan Slacer, Madison Slacer, Ethan Torres, Emma Torres, Kaydence Torres, Camron Mitchell, Hayden Mitchell, and Owen Mitchell; and three great-grandchildren: Sienna Krull, Sawyer McCreary, and Grayson Slacer.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, husband and granddaughter, Savannah McCreary.
The Memorial Service was at 10 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2025, at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville, with Deacon John Darin officiating.
Inurnment was in Mary Queen of Heaven Mausoleum at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Perryville.
