James ‘Buck’ Watts

James (Buck) Watts, 82, of Perryville, passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at his residence surrounded by family and friends.

He was born on April 5, 1943, to James and Viola Watts.

Buck and Kay were married on Dec. 24, 1961, in Liberty, Texas.

He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. Buck was a member of AMVETS and a retired truck driver for Gilster Mary Lee. He is survived by his wife; brother, Sam (wife Diane); sister, Betty; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Buck was preceded in death by his parents, his older brother Jimmy Charles, his son Greg, his daughter Kim, and his granddaughter Richie.

For these special people in our lives, thank you just doesn’t seem adequate — Dawn Sevier for staying day and night; Kay and Randy Wibbenmeyer, Vicki and Jason Roberts, and Glenda and Tom Grayson for always helping and being there with us; Sam and Diane, thank you for always being here and supporting us with your love.

Buck’s final journey was made more comforting by all his family and friends.

There will be no funeral service, as Buck donated his body to science.
