A one-vehicle crash that occurred at 3 p.m. on Sunday on northbound I-55 at the 131.0-mile marker left two adults and two juveniles from Florissant with minor to moderate injuries.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the collision occurred when the driver’s side rear tire blew out on a northbound 2007 GMC Yukon driven by a 32-year-old Florissant woman.

The driver lost control of the SUV, which veered off the right side of the roadway, struck a rock bluff, and overturned. Neither the driver nor a 32-year-old adult occupant was wearing a seat belt. They both sustained moderate injuries.

However, both juveniles, aged 11 and 12, were wearing their seat belts and suffered only minor injuries.

The driver was transported by Mercy Perry Ambulance Service to St. Francis Medical Center for treatment. The three other occupants were taken by Mercy Perry Ambulance Service to Mercy Hospital Perry, where they also received treatment for their injuries.
