The public is invited to attend the annual Fall Service at Friedenberg Hill of Peace Lutheran Historical Site, located at 510 Perry County Road 304, on Sunday, Oct. 12, at 3 p.m.
This year’s service will be officiated by Seminarian Henry Eising, who will also deliver the sermon. Eising currently serves in the Reference and Research Department at the Concordia Historical Institute while pursuing seminary studies in preparation for Call Day next spring.
Call Day marks the moment when graduating seminary students receive formal assignments to serve as pastors or church workers in specific congregations or ministries—a milestone of deep significance in the Lutheran Church.
A graduate of Hillsdale College with a bachelor’s degree in history, Eising previously taught history at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Royal Oak, Michigan. During his first two years of seminary training, he assisted with services at the Chapel of St. Timothy and St. Titus on the Concordia Seminary campus and sang with the seminary’s Laudamus Choir.
The service will include special music by the Immanuel Lutheran Men’s Choir, directed by Nathan Steele and accompanied by Janet Seibel. Refreshments and fellowship will follow.
The event is hosted by the Members Advisory Council of the Hill of Peace Lutheran Memorial.
