Evelyn “Neetz” Lanita Nuyt, 94, of Perryville, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2026, at Riverview at the Park Nursing Home in Ste. Genevieve.
She was born September 3, 1931, in McBride to Albert and Matilda (Brewer) Renner.
Evelyn was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, VFW, American Legion Auxiliary and Knights of Columbus. She worked at Prince Gardner for many years. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo and gardening.
Survivors include two sons, Mike Nuyt of Perryville and Greg Nuyt of Perryville; a brother, Raymond “Buster” Renner of Evansville, Illinois; a sister, Patsy “Pat” Bohnert of Chester; a daughter-in-law, Regina Nuyt of Perryville; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Terry Nuyt; a grandson, Scott Nuyt; 11 siblings, Floyd “Patrick Kenneth” Renner, Ed Renner, Vallie Renner, August “Gussie” Renner, Bill Renner, Virginia Strickland, Berzita “Erma” Detjen, Sylvia “Ann” Renner, Aloysius “Buddy” Renner, Merlin Renner and Joseph “Ira Lee” Renner; three brothers-in-law, Linus “Linnie” Bohnert, Hugo “Curly” Detjen and Clarence “Bud” Strickland; and a daughter-inlaw, Susie Nuyt.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville.
The funeral service will be at noon Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville, with Deacon John Darin officiating.
Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Perryville.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Vincent de Paul Educational Foundation.
