Etta Marie Basler, 87, of Creve Coeur, passed away Friday, December 26, 2025.
She was born August 13, 1938, to Andrew and Regina (Buchheit) Berkbigler and grew up on the family farm in Apple Creek.
Etta married James “Jim” Basler on June 20, 1959.
The couple lived in Germany for three years while Jim served in the U.S. Army. She was blessed with a devoted husband of 63 years; three children, Lorrie (Steve) Cain, Gina (Tim) Speer, and Dennis (Lisa) Basler; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Etta and Jim enjoyed fishing, gardening, crafting, and sitting on the deck watching hummingbirds.
She was a wonderful cook, and was especially known for making the best biscuits and gravy. She delighted in quilting with the ladies at her church, and family and friends filled her heart with joy.
She will be deeply missed by all who loved her!
Her life will be celebrated at a later date.
