Donald L. Wibbenmeyer, 96, of Perryville, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2025, at Independence Care Center in Perryville.

He was born April 9, 1929, in Perryville to Stanislaus G. “Stonie” and Beulah E. “Bea” (Chappius) Wibbenmeyer.

Don and Dellora L. Stark were married November 9, 1951, in Fort Tilden, N.Y., while Don was serving two years in the United States Army.

He was the owner and operator of Stonie’s Sausage Shop, retiring in 1987. He was an avid musician, playing trumpet for the Ste. Genevieve Municipal Band, Harvey Mueller Band, and the Jack Trapp Orchestra. Over the years, he and his wife taught dancing lessons to many couples. His favorite pastimes after retirement were dancing, playing cards, woodworking, and crossword puzzles. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville, Knights of Columbus Council #1263, and American Legion Post #133. He was a faithful adorer of the Blessed Sacrament.

Survivors include three daughters, Brenda (Rick) Tisher, Rhonda (Dave) Meyr, and Jane Wibbenmeyer; four sons, Roger (Barb) Wibbenmeyer, Bruce (Connie) Wibbenmeyer, Brian (Patti) Wibbenmeyer, and Chris (Kim) Wibbenmeyer; three sisters, Barbara Ernst, Alice (Bill) Wichern, and Deb (Jim) Hoffman; 20 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Myra Gremanud, Mary Ochs, and Carol Wibbenmeyer; brother, Alan Wibbenmeyer; daughter, Patricia Wibbenmeyer; son-in-law, Paul Taylor Sr.; grandson, Jonathan Taylor; and infant great-granddaughter, Jaci Meyr.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, November 13, 2025, at St. Vincent de Paul Church in Perryville and will continue from 9 to 9:50 a.m. Friday, November 14, 2025, at the church.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday, November 14, 2025, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville, with Rev. Joe Geders officiating.

Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Perryville. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Post #133 and Delta Team.

Memorial contributions may be given to Journey Hospice.
